I’ve decided that I’m opening an art gallery, but that art gallery is mostly hypothetical and exists as a newsletter on the internet. Welcome, and thanks for coming.

The entire curatorial team here at Gallery Blerf (me) agrees that we should take it easy this summer. So we’re starting a new, rotating exhibit called VISUAL TREATS.
Below are a few tasty little art snacks. Some actual art, some design and such.
Shall we?
This week in visual treats:
Roald Dahl’s Tales of the Unexpected book cover.
A few of these short stories (which are more for adults) were recently made into short films by our old pal Wes Anderson. I’ve been reading the stories, then watching the films and I recommend.
Anjelica Huston photographed by Annie Leibovitz in 1991
Anjelica plus Annie, just IDK it’s so good.

Reese Blustein posted this little snap from The Maker Hotel and my goodness gracious. The flowers MATCH THE PLANTER.
I’d like to retroactively add this Muji striped shirt to our last exhibit on Stripey Art.
Which reminds me, actually, of artist Woodley White:
I also love this piece of his.
Architect Roberto Baciocchi’s pool—maybe the most beautiful pool I’ve ever seen?
Side note: I once met Roberto Baciocchi—he curated a group show in which I was an artist. I felt like a bumbling idiot talking to him because he seems so intimidating?! But really he was very warm and kind.
For more: a tour of his incredible home and his Instagram.
The Kiss by Constantin Brancusi (1907) which reminds me of smooching one’s lover in the pool. Or maybe the ocean!!

That’s it!
Thanks so much for reading. Wishing you many visual treats this week! Also, if you’re an artist and you’d like to send along your work, I’d love to see. Just hit reply ;-)
CYA,
Rachel
